Hello, world: the studio has a home
Poppa Games Studio finally has its own corner of the internet. Here is why, and what you'll find here.
Until now my games lived only in their store pages. That works for downloading a game, but not for telling the story behind it, answering questions or showing what's coming next. So this site is the new home for all of that: every game in one place, a roadmap, a FAQ - and this devlog.
Who is behind it
Poppa Games Studio is not a company. It is my personal project - one person making games from scratch, out of a love for games. On Google Play my games are published under the developer name ACRYBIA, so if you see that name, it's me.
Join Them Fruits today
Join Them Fruits is a match-and-pop puzzle where the fruits behave like real ones: they roll, bounce and settle in the basket. Group five or more of one colour and they pop. It's out on Google Play, and the latest update fixed a rare bug where a game could end even though no fruit was above the game-over line. Thank you to everyone who played, rated and reported problems - it really helps.
The next game
A new game is in closed testing right now, played by a small group of testers on Android. I'm not revealing the name yet - the feedback from the test is still shaping it. When it's ready, the first look will appear here.
What this devlog will be about
- progress on the games, with screenshots along the way,
- problems I hit and how I solved them,
- decisions about design, difficulty and the things players asked for.
